Job summary

The Scruggs Company in Auburn, GA is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to partner with business leaders and help drive growth. This in-person role handles recruiting, onboarding, employee records, payroll timecard audits, benefits administration, and performance management.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years in HR Generalist roles, and knowledge of HRIS systems (Arcoro). Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years HR Generalist experience, preferably in construction/transport/manufacturing.
• Experience with HRIS systems, Arcoro preferred.
• Working knowledge of employment and labor laws.
• Knowledge of wage and hour regulations at federal and state levels.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Spanish is a plus.

• Manage the full cycle recruiting process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding candidates.
• Conduct new hire orientation and assist with employee training initiatives.
• Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
• Audit timecards for hours worked, overtime, PTO, and other pay codes for payroll processing.
• Administer employee benefits programs and assist with reviews and bonus administration.
• Support performance management processes, including coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

Job description

The Scruggs Company, one of the fastest growing construction companies in Georgia, is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Generalist due to current and future growth. The opportunity is with Sunbelt Asphalt Services, a division of The Scruggs Company, and is based in Auburn, GA. This is an in-person position.

Act as an HR business partner for a rapidly expanding business, providing HR generalist support, while demonstrating the ability to influence and deliver for business leaders.

• Manage the full cycle recruiting process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding candidates.
• Conduct new hire orientation and assist with employee training initiatives.
• Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
• Audit employee timecards to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked, overtime, PTO, sick leave, and other pay codes for payroll processing.
• Administer employee benefits programs and assist with reviews and bonus administration.
• Support performance management processes, including employee coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Promote employee engagement by addressing concerns and fostering open communication.
• Assist with HR reporting, records management, travel arrangements, correspondence, and other administrative functions.
• Support special projects and additional Human Resources initiatives as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in construction, transportation, or manufacturing, management experience highly preferred
• Experience with HRIS systems, Arcoro preferred
• Working knowledge of employment and labor laws
• Knowledge of wage and hour regulations at federal and state levels required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, Spanish skills a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• A great sense of humor and a willingness to add to a fun, winning environment
