Job summary

BlueScope-Buildings-North-America,-Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support benefits, policies, and payroll at our manufacturing sites. You will assist in staffing, onboarding, and employee relations while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

The role involves data maintenance in the HRIS, attendance and leave programs, performance management support, and coordination of employee engagement initiatives with a focus on total rewards and development.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of Human Resources experience.
• Knowledge and application of employment laws.
• Knowledge and application of benefit plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support services in benefits, policies, and payroll.
• Support recruiting and staffing activities, including diversity efforts.
• Counsel supervisors and managers on policies and employment law.
• Maintain data in HRIS system and personnel records.
• Administer attendance, leave management (FMLA, STD/LTDF).
• Coordinate onboarding and separation processes and training.
• Support performance management systems and worker’s comp claims.
• Assist with employee engagement and recognition events.

The Generalist provides HR support services to employees in the areas of benefits, policies, and payroll and supports locations as a subject matter expert with recruiting, benefit administration, compensation planning, HRIS guidance, and HR related special projects.
