Job summary

Pathways to Life, Inc. in Greenville, NC seeks an experienced HR Director to lead our people strategy and align culture with our mission. This role owns the full hiring lifecycle, drives staff development, and ensures compliance with HR laws and clinical standards across sites.

You will partner with leadership to foster a positive, high-performing work environment. Office-based, with quarterly travel and reports to the CEO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Working knowledge of the behavioral health population we serve.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to foster a cooperative, positive work environment.
• Integrity and discretion with confidential information.
• No substantiated findings on the NC Health Care Personnel Registry; must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Own the full hiring lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and exit interviews
• Coordinate the onboarding process between our HR Recruiter and Training Specialist
• Champion employee satisfaction — assess staff needs and serve on our Morale Committee
• Serve on the Member Rights Committee, gathering member feedback and driving improvement plans
• Partner with Quality Assurance and Clinical leadership to keep training and credentialing current
• Keep us compliant with HR law, CARF standards, MCO requirements, and state regulations
• Manage unemployment claims, workers' compensation, and personnel documentation
• Develop HR policy, performance management, and succession planning

Schedule & location

Office-based, Monday–Friday. Travel to our additional sites required at minimum quarterly.
