Job summary

The Lodge at Heritage Grove Estates in Topeka, KS is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead all HR functions for our skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. You will drive talent strategy, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, onboarding, payroll collaboration, and workforce planning.

This leadership role requires a Bachelor's in HR or related field, a Master's preferred, and at least three years of HR leadership experience, preferably in healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources leadership or administration experience.
• Experience in healthcare, long-term care, skilled nursing, or senior living preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, wage and hour regulations, OSHA requirements, workers' compensation, employee relations, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct all HR operations and personnel administration activities
• Advise management on employment practices, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, harassment prevention, and workplace policies
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Partner with department leaders on staffing needs, performance management, retention efforts, and workforce planning
• Analyze turnover trends and recommend strategies to improve employee retention and engagement
• Lead recruitment efforts, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring processes
• Coordinate background checks, reference checks, licensure verification, and pre-employment screenings
• Manage new hire orientation and onboarding programs
• Maintain applicant tracking and personnel records
• Administer employee relations programs and assist with conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws
• Oversee unemployment claims, workers' compensation cases, OSHA reporting, and employment verifications
• Monitor professional licensure and certification renewals for applicable staff
• Process and manage payroll operations
