Job summary

You will manage labor relations, compliance, engagement, and retention, ensuring regulatory readiness and strong partnerships with hospital leaders to support patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience leading HR in acute care hospital or healthcare setting.
• Strong union and labor relations experience required.
• Extensive employee relations experience including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
• Ability to partner with hospital executives and department leaders.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and wage/hour regulations.
• Experience supporting regulatory and accreditation readiness.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of related healthcare HR experience.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead HR operations for a large acute care hospital in Chicago.

This is a highly visible leadership position working closely with the CEO and hospital executive team. The HR Director will oversee employee and labor relations, workforce strategy, HR compliance, engagement, retention and the overall HR function.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous HR leadership experience within an acute care hospital or healthcare environment
• Strong union and labor relations experience required
• Extensive employee relations experience, including investigations, grievances and disciplinary matters
• Ability to effectively partner with hospital executives and department leaders
