Job summary

Buffalo Center, a 200-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead the HR function and partner with facility leadership. In this role you will manage payroll liaison, benefits coordination, recruitment, compliance with DOL/DOH, employee relations, and other HR duties to support staff and residents.

• Prior experience in an HR or staffing setting.
• HR degree or background strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of human resource administration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schedules for nursing department.
• Coordinate payroll timecards as payroll liaison.
• Coordinate employee benefits liaison with Benefits Administrator.
• Supervise the front desk staff.
• Ensure DOL and DOH compliance for new hires (enrollment, background/reference checks, license verification).
• Managing recruitment needs by determining open positions, screening and interviewing applicants.
• Participates in facility management meetings.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Handles HR duties including employee disciplines, payroll status changes, terminations, resignations.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.

Buffalo Center is hiring a Director of Human Resources in Buffalo, NY.

DUTIES:

• Prepare accurate and complete schedules for nursing department

• Coordinate all payroll timecards and issues by acting as the payroll liaison between the Payroll Department and the facility

• Coordinate all employee benefits by acting as the liaison between Payroll Dept & Benefits Administrator

• Supervise the front desk staff in all aspects

• Ensure the Department of Labor and Department of Health compliance for all new hires including time-clock enrollment, criminal background checks/reference checks/license verification

• Managing recruitment needs by determining open positions, screening and interviewing applicants

• Participates in facility management meetings as required

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

• Handles HR Duties, including employee disciplines (in collaboration with department heads), change in payroll status, terminations, resignations, retirements

• Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have prior experience in an HR or staffing setting

• Background or degree in HR strongly preferred

• Knowledge of human resource administration

• Inter-personal, organizational and problem-solving skills are required

• Must have excellent communication skills
