Job Summary
The HR Coordinator will support multiple Manufacturing plants and Distribution Centers and work closely with Corporate Human Resources to provide professional, courteous and effective service to each location.
Responsible for answering all first level HR related inquiries, to Managers and hourly employees
Liaison between corporate HR, payroll and the employee in regards to Benefits, RRSPs, Payroll, HR, & Short Term Disability Claims
Creates and maintains location specific reference manuals, standards, policies, procedures and work instructions that fall under the scope of Human Resources
Maintains accurate and up to date personnel records for all Distribution Centre employees - attendance records, training records, performance appraisals and reviews
Develops and maintains HR monthly reports for Location Management – turnover, absenteeism, manpower, STD hours, and recruitment
Recruitment and Selection
Develops recruitment programs to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings
Conducts full cycle recruitment efforts for all hourly personnel and skilled trades - sources posting mechanisms, develops postings, screening, interviewing, testing, reference checking and preparing offers, etc.
Job fairs – coordinates the participation in, and works at job fairs providing information about the organization and job opportunities to potential applicants
Develops effective onboarding procedures and conducts new employee orientation
Develops and administers effective rewards and recognition programs
Provides relevant HR training to hourly employees (AODA, Respect in the Workplace, Privacy, etc.)
Supports and help facilitate performance management plans
Assist in creating training Matrix
Monitors 30-60-90 day evaluations, and notify Supervisor when due
Conduct Exit Interviews for hourly employees
Administer Claims Management and Return to Work for Non Occupational injuries or illnesses
Meet with hourly employees, as required, to resolve benefit and payroll issues
Publish Quarterly Newsletter and important memo communications for employees
Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by Management
Develops and administers effective rewards and recognition programs
Provides relevant HR training to hourly employees (AODA, Respect in the Workplace, Privacy, etc.)
Supports and help facilitate performance management plans
Assist in creating training Matrix

Additional Duties and Responsibilities (vary by location)

Qualifications and Experience
3 years HR experience, preferably with generalist focus; or
Any equivalent combination of experience, training and / or education approved by IPEX Management.
Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to complex human resource issues
Knowledge of local, provincial and federal employment laws and regulations
Solid foundation in Recruitment and Selection
Valid drivers license
Good time management skills with strong clerical experience
Strong interpersonal, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
