Job description

Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the HR department, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and employee satisfaction. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate personnel records, processing employee lifecycle documentation, and managing onboarding and offboarding procedures. The coordinator oversees timekeeping and payroll support, provides frontline employee assistance, and facilitates engagement initiatives. Additionally, the role includes coordinating with temporary staffing agencies, supporting training and development efforts, and participating in leadership meetings and special projects. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities And Essential Functions

  • HR Administration & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Prepare and process personnel documentation including new hires, terminations, transfers, and promotions.
    • Generate and maintain reports such as headcount, labor, OSHA, and organizational charts.
  • Timekeeping & Payroll Support
    • Administer time and attendance tracking for hourly employees, including adjustments and approvals.
    • Train employees on timekeeping systems and ensure timely submission of payroll data.
    • Review and process payroll-related documents and vendor invoices.
  • Employee Support & Engagement
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries via walk-ins, phone, email, and HR mailbox.
    • Assist with employee relations matters, including documentation and follow-up.
    • Support employee engagement initiatives such as recognition programs, safety meetings, and company events.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding
    • Coordinate pre-employment processes including background checks, drug screening, and system access.
    • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure completion of onboarding tasks in HRIS system.
    • Support offboarding procedures including exit interviews, return of company property, and system deactivation.
  • Recruitment & Temp Staffing
    • Coordinate with temp agencies for scheduling, onboarding, and performance feedback.
    • Manage temp conversions and maintain communication with supervisors regarding staffing needs.
  • Training & Development
    • Track training completion and assist in scheduling sessions for compliance and development.
    • Research and recommend training resources for supervisors and managers.
  • Other Duties
    • Attend plant leadership meetings and provide HR updates.
    • Support uniform distribution and vendor coordination.
    • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required; must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, including internships, co-op programs, or other practical experience.

  • Familiarity with HR compliance, payroll processes, and employee relations.
