Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) seeks a detail‑oriented HR Coordinator to support recruitment and onboarding at our Seattle office. You will manage candidate data in the Paycom ATS, coordinate onboarding activities, and ensure compliance with I‑9/W‑4 and related forms.

You will partner with hiring managers, conduct background checks, and support licensing and audits while upholding privacy standards and equity. This is a full‑time role with strong benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year HR or recruiting assistant experience.
  • Familiarity with HR practices and employment laws.
  • Strong administrative skills and confidentiality.

DescriptionJob Location: 300 Elliott Ave W, Ste 100 Seattle WA 98119Proposed start date: Beginning of November 2026Full pay range: $28.85 - $33.65/hr.The Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role in supporting ARC’s recruitment and onboarding processes. This position provides essential administrative support, works closely with applicants and hiring managers, and ensures that all pre-hire and onboarding steps are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with federal and state requirements.This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a high level of professionalism. Because this position handles confidential and sensitive employee information, strict adherence to privacy procedures is essential. The HR Coordinator must also demonstrate understanding, sensitivity, and respect for the diverse populations at ARC and within the communities we serve.Associated Recreation Council (ARC) partners with Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) to provide high-quality recreation, enrichment, and lifelong learning programs for people of all ages. ARC is committed to creating inclusive, engaging, and safe programs that strengthen our community.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide administrative support for all pre‑hire and onboarding processesAssist with recruitment tasks including job postings, resume review, prescreening, and interview coordinationServe as the main point of contact for new hires from offer acceptance through clearance to startEnter and manage candidate information in the Paycom ATS and facilitate self‑onboardingProcess new hire and rehire paperwork to ensure compliance and accurate employee filesMaintain onboarding documentation and tracking sheets in PaycomSchedule and assign orientations and required new hire trainingsConduct background, motor vehicle, and reference checksFollow up on missing documents and ensure timely completion of onboarding requirementsEnsure accuracy of onboarding forms including Form I‑9, W‑4, and authorization documentsPartner with the HR Generalist to support DCYF licensing complianceCoordinate onboarding tools and track assigned organizational propertyCommunicate onboarding status and clearance‑to‑work updates to hiring managersSupport HRIS maintenance through record updates, employee changes, and compliance auditsAudit employee files for completeness and resolve missing informationBuild and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partnersStay current on employment laws and HR best practicesParticipate in training and HR team meetings to support process improvementPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:At least one year of Human Resource Assistant or Recruiting Assistant experienceAssociate or bachelor’s degree strongly desired; aPHR or PHR preferredFamiliarity with standard HR and recruiting concepts and practicesAbility to use judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goalsCommitment to equity, fairness, impartiality, and reducing barriers through onboarding practicesStrong administrative skills and proficiency with Microsoft OfficeAbility to establish collaborative working relationships with diverse groupsKnowledge of employment law and HR best practicesHigh level of confidentiality and professionalismAbility to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levelsCreativity and flexibility in problem‑solvingWork Environment: This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, scanners, and photocopiers.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to type or handle materials, and reach with hands and arms.Position Type and Schedule: This is a full-time position.
