The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Staff Personnel & Payroll Specialist I in Pittsburgh on a hybrid schedule. This role supports payroll and HR tasks, onboards faculty, staff and students, and ensures accurate record-keeping with adherence to policies.
A Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience are required. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm, with the department determining remote/onsite balance.
Serves as a primary contact for faculty, staff, union, and students regarding all payroll actions and issues and provides support and guidance. Reviews and corrects record changes, payroll actions, employment forms, and payroll registers. Approves recruitment actions, requests, and reclassifications; onboards new and rehired faculty, staff, and students. Performs data entry and maintains all filing systems. Ensures accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
