Job description

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and generalist support across a variety of Human Resources functions. This position serves as an important point of contact for employees and managers and assists with employee onboarding and offboarding, HR systems and records, recruiting, employee relations, employee engagement and events, compliance, and other HR programs and initiatives.

This is an entry-level Human Resources position ideal for an individual who has some prior HR experience and/or relevant education and is interested in developing broad HR generalist knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, approachable, and able to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
HR Administration and Generalist Support
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for Human Resources programs, processes, projects, and activities.
  • Serve as a resource for associates and assist managers with routine HR questions, policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and other documentation.
  • Process associate changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, job and compensation changes, and terminations.
  • Provide support to HR team members on employee relations matters, including gathering information, preparing documentation, and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Assist with associate recognition, engagement, and other HR programs.
  • Develop knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and company policies and apply that knowledge to day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Help create a welcoming and positive experience for new associates, candidates, and guests.
Onboarding and Offboarding
  • Coordinate the new-hire onboarding process, including scheduling activities and communicating with new associates, managers, and internal departments.
  • Support employee offboarding activities, including preparing documentation, processing HR system changes, and coordinating applicable exit procedures.
Event Coordination
  • Participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of associate events, recognition activities, celebrations, and other engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, communications, gathering materials and supplies, and other event needs.
Recruiting Support
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring activities, including coordinating interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Coordinate pre-employment activities and maintain accurate applicant and hiring records.
HR Systems, Records, and Compliance
  • Maintain accurate and timely information within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other HR platforms.
  • Assist with associate documentation, personnel records, required notices, and other compliance-related activities.
  • Support HR audits and reporting and assist with maintaining records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company retention practices.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred; experience in related roles may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 1–2 years of HR, administrative, recruiting, employee engagement, or related professional experience preferred.

  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with associate and managers at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate details, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and a genuine interest in supporting associates and creating a positive associate/employment experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also independently managing assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to assist with coordinating events and projects involving multiple participants, deadlines, and logistical details.
  • Proficiency with Technology, including Microsoft Office applications, HRIS, applicant tracking, and other HR technology platforms.
  • Basic understanding of Human Resources principles and employment practices.

This individual will be dependable, organized, and detail-oriented while also being approachable, collaborative, and comfortable interacting with employees throughout the organization.

Success in this role requires someone who is willing to handle the important day-to-day details of HR while also taking initiative, contributing to associate programs and events, and developing broader HR knowledge. Over time, the coordinator will be expected to take greater ownership of HR processes and develop the skills and judgment necessary to handle increasingly complex generalist responsibilities.
