The role contributes to a positive workplace culture by supporting recruitment, employee development, engagement, and retention. It also helps maintain accurate personnel records, promotes compliance with employment requirements, and ensures that HR processes run smoothly throughout the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Coordinate key HR processes, including new starter inductions, onboarding, employee departures, exit discussions, leave arrangements, return-to-work procedures, unemployment claims, and relevant workplace safety reporting.
  • Recruitment Support: Work alongside recruitment specialists and hiring managers to coordinate vacancies, assist with staffing requirements, and support effective recruitment practices.
  • Employee Relations and Inclusion: Assist HR business partners in promoting an inclusive workplace where employees are treated fairly and diversity is valued.
  • Employee Engagement: Support the delivery of initiatives and activities designed to improve employee experience, morale, and job satisfaction.
  • Project Coordination: Provide administrative and operational assistance for HR projects, departmental programmes, and wider organisational initiatives.
  • Policy and Compliance: Help implement internal procedures, maintain relevant documentation, and monitor compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
  • HR Communications: Prepare and circulate internal communications, including employee correspondence, guidance documents, reports, presentations, surveys, and other HR materials.
  • Information Management: Collect, update, and analyse HR information, maintain records, compile feedback, and follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure information is complete and accurate.
  • Meeting and Event Support: Organise and coordinate HR meetings, virtual conferences, training sessions, employee inductions, and other departmental events.
  • General HR Administration: Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team and undertake additional responsibilities appropriate to the role as required.
Education and Training
  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources or a related discipline would be an advantage.
  • Approximately two to three years of experience in human resources administration, recruitment, employee relations, or a similar people-focused role.
  • Equivalent experience gained through a combination of relevant education and practical work experience may also be considered.
Skills and Competencies

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional correspondence and report preparation.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the confidence to communicate effectively with employees, managers, and external contacts.
  • The ability to handle sensitive employee information discreetly and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • A sound understanding of HR procedures and a willingness to develop knowledge of relevant employment legislation and workplace policies.
  • The ability to interpret written guidance, follow established processes, and identify areas requiring further attention.
  • Strong attention to detail when maintaining employee records, managing documentation, and handling numerical information.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to identify issues and contribute to practical solutions.
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments in a busy environment while responding professionally to interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Confidence in supporting staff training, delivering presentations, and assisting with group activities.
  • Competence in using computers and standard office applications, particularly word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software.
  • The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Reasonable adjustments will be considered to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position.

The role is primarily based in a front-office or reception-style office environment, involving regular interaction with employees, visitors, and colleagues. The postholder should be comfortable working at a workstation for extended periods, managing administrative responsibilities, and maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
