About the Role
We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join a collaborative HR team and provide support across a broad range of HR functions.
The HR Coordinator will serve as an important resource for employees while providing day-to-day administrative and operational support to the HR team. The ideal candidate will be organized, service-oriented, highly detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for employees by answering HR-related questions or directing employees to the appropriate resources.
- Support the onboarding process, including coordinating new hire paperwork, scheduling orientations, and assisting with or conducting portions of new hire orientation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records.
- Enter and maintain employee and training information within the HRIS.
- Create and run HR reports and use HR data to provide meaningful information to the HR team.
- Support administration of health and welfare benefits, including answering employee questions, processing enrollments, changes, and terminations, and reconciling benefit statements.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities and events, including employee appreciation events, holiday activities, company lunches, and other workplace initiatives.
- Manage event budgets and make recommendations for future employee engagement activities.
- Coordinate the contingent workforce, including temporary employees and staffing agency relationships.
- Maintain relationships with staffing agencies, assist with billing rate and wage rate discussions, submit timecards, approve invoices, and track workforce metrics.
- Support and manage student intern and summer employment programs, including identifying hiring needs, posting positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, checking references, and assisting with candidate selection.
- Develop and oversee an engaging internship program designed to provide students with meaningful opportunities to learn and contribute.
- Manage the site's FMLA process, working with an outside vendor and coordinating communications between employees and managers.
- Coordinate the employee service award program, including anniversary recognition, photos, and service award events.
- Coordinate employee and HR-related surveys.
- Process workers' compensation claims and OSHA log documentation while partnering with the safety team to support compliance.
- Provide additional HR and administrative support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Communications, or a related field preferred
- Entry-level HR experience is welcome; minimum experience requirement is approximately 1 year
- Knowledge of HR practices, office procedures, and general HR administration.
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine interest in supporting employees.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure work is accurate and complete.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
- Ability to remain objective and professional when assisting employees with workplace concerns.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to anticipate needs and manage multiple tasks.
- Proactive mindset with a desire to learn, grow, and identify ways to improve HR processes.
- Resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, managers, HR colleagues, vendors, and other internal stakeholders.
