Nakupuna Consulting is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team of talented consultants providing professional services to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) Enterprise Services Division (ESD). The mission of CAPE is to provide the Department of Defense with timely, insightful, and unbiased analysis on resource allocation and cost estimation problems to deliver the optimum portfolio of military capabilities through efficient and effective use of each taxpayer dollar.






Responsibilities




The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

    Assists in the processing of a wide range of human resources actions related to recruitment, temporary staff assignments, position descriptions tracking and position management records, awards, and interview scheduling, when required.
  • Assists with posting job announcements, disposition applicants, tracking applicants, and maintain required case files.
  • Reviews Schedule B candidates' applications for basic qualifications. Assists the Staffing Specialist in advising selection officials on hiring procedures and requirements.
  • Advises and provides procedural and technical guidance to managers, supervisors, and applicants.
  • Serves as onboarding coordinator for new staff hires that includes transmitting new employee welcome packages and preparing welcome letters.
  • Utilizes various human resources information systems to submit actions, enter and retrieve data, searches systems, and retrieve reports.
  • Provides regular progress updates to HR Leads and Directors regarding personnel actions inquiries.
  • Manages the division general inquiry mailbox and answers inquiries concerning hiring procedures and other general questions.
  • Coordinates and assists with surveys specific to the ESD operations.
  • Prepare documents and briefings for review and use by DoD senior leadership.
  • This position's roles and responsibilities are aligned as Key Personnel.





Qualifications




Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources (or related discipline), or three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience as an HR coordinator or generalist.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR functions and industry best practices.
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding organizational and conflict management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and related HR software is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is required.

Clearance: This position requires an active SECRET security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
