Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our client groups at the Pomona, CA site. The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor who demonstrates initiative and excels in both independent and collaborative environments. The HRBP will play a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives by actively engaging in learning the intricacies of the business to drive impactful results. Exceptional communication skills are essential for ensuring clear and effective interactions across all organizational levels, thereby facilitating the advancement of change initiatives. The client groups include Manufacturing, Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Engineering.

This position will be based in Pomona, CA, with an interim work location in Orange, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner for client group leaders to understand business objectives and implement HR strategies that enhance organizational performance.
  2. Develop a deep understanding of business operations, challenges, and opportunities to provide tailored HR solutions.
  3. Build strong relationships with employees at all levels to foster trust, engagement, and collaboration.
  4. Lead initiatives focused on talent development to create a high-performing, motivated workforce.
  5. Guide the organization through change initiatives, ensuring collaboration and buy-in for smooth transitions.
  6. Manage HR metrics using HRIS reporting; analyze trends impacting business and talent planning.
  7. Respond to employee inquiries, conduct investigations, and handle documentation.
  8. Collaborate with HR Shared Services and Leave of Absence vendors to manage leaves in compliance with ADA.
  9. Monitor performance reviews and organizational talent assessments; facilitate calibration sessions with leadership.
  10. Support recruitment of contingent workers via temporary agencies.
  11. Conduct training sessions to support professional development and HR policy understanding.
  12. Participate in employee engagement efforts, including events and feedback sessions.
  13. Stay updated on employment laws to ensure policy compliance.
  14. Attend department meetings to ensure policy adherence and provide improvement recommendations.
  15. Guide less experienced colleagues and lead small HR projects.
  16. Participate in continuous improvement events and lead process enhancements.
  17. Travel up to 10% locally as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources; PHR or SPHR certification highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant HR experience, including managing employee relations tactfully.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in matrix environments preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and confident in seeking solutions.
  • Knowledge of federal and California employment laws.
  • Proficient in HRIS (preferably WorkDay) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and training skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and autonomous decision-making.
  • Ability to build rapport and handle situations tactfully.
  • Flexible with working hours and priorities.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting, using hands, walking, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 5 lbs. as needed. Accommodations available for disabilities.

Salary Range

$82,600 - $124,000, depending on experience and other factors. Compensation may include bonuses and benefits.
