Burnett Specialists is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner I to support business operations by providing strategic and day-to-day HR guidance, employee relations support, talent management assistance, and HR process execution.

This contract-based, hybrid role is in Houston, TX, with 40 hours per week, immediate start through December 30, 2026 (potential extension) and possibility of direct-hire conversion. Pay rate $31.25-$33.65 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • 2-3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience required.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, CIPD, or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource to assigned business units.
  • Provide guidance regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support employee counseling, coaching, investigations, and workplace issue resolution.
  • Foster positive employee relations and maintain HR visibility within supported groups.
  • Support performance management processes.
  • Assist with succession planning and career development initiatives.
  • Participate in workforce planning, staffing, and recruiting efforts.
  • Help develop internal talent pipelines and employee growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Coordinate personnel movements and organizational changes.
  • Support standardization of HR processes and procedures.
  • Assist with special projects and HR initiatives as assigned.

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner I to support business operations by providing strategic and day-to-day HR guidance, employee relations support, talent management assistance, and HR process execution.

Position Details Industry: Oil & Gas Location: Houston, TX (Galleria Area) Schedule: 40 hours per week Work Arrangement: Hybrid In office: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday Remote: Wednesday and Friday Duration: Immediate start through December 30, 2026, with possible extension and potential for direct-hire conversion Pay Rate: $31.25 - $33.65 per hour ($65K - $70K).

Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner I serves as the primary HR contact for assigned business groups. This role partners with leaders and employees to support employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, recruiting initiatives, HR compliance, and HRIS data integrity. The successful candidate will provide guidance on policies and procedures while working closely with HR leadership to address workplace concerns and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities
