Job summary

Chief of Staff KC is seeking an experienced HR professional to serve as the primary HR contact, handle onboarding, retention, and employee relations across a busy site. You will work closely with management to provide training and support for employees, and help establish strategies to elevate engagement and culture.

You will lead full-cycle recruitment, ensure accurate HR records, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a construction or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to run and interpret HR reports, analyze data, and translate insights into action.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.

  • Ensure accurate and compliant HR recordkeeping, including personnel files, attendance tracking, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, ensuring policies and practices are current and aligned with HR best practices.
  • Manage internal communications at the site, ensuring notices and updates are timely and visible across displays.
  • Contribute to culture-building initiatives, including wellness programs and employee engagement activities.
