Job summary

Hilton Seattle Airport Hotel & Conference Center seeks an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to work with hotel leadership and UNITE HERE to ensure an engaged and compliant workplace. The role focuses on labor relations, contract administration, and people programs.

The HRBP partners with the Director of Human Resources on core HR initiatives, supports day-to-day employee relations, investigations, and leadership coaching, with consistent CBA interpretation and administration.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • At least 2 years supporting a unionized workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Exceptional employee relations and investigation experience.
  • Hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) at Hilton Seattle Airport Hotel & Conference Center works closely with hotel leadership and UNITE HERE representatives to help create a workplace that is both engaged and compliant. This role supports manager effectiveness, labor relations, and people programs across the organization, with a strong focus on contract administration and fair, consistent processes.

Role Overview

The HRBP collaborates with the Director of Human Resources on core HR initiatives and partners with department leaders to ensure team processes meet applicable requirements. The position supports day-to-day employee relations, grievance and investigation activity, and leadership coaching, with consistent interpretation and administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources on all HR matters.
  • Partner with department leaders to support compliance across team processes.
  • Coach managers on employee relations and leadership best practices.
  • Interpret and administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Drive and support grievance resolution and workplace investigations.
  • Guide performance management and progressive discipline.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and talent development.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.

First-Year Expectations
  • Coach every department leader on effective application of the CBA and progressive discipline.
  • Reduce avoidable grievances through proactive manager education and consistent contract interpretation.
  • Conduct thorough workplace investigations with timely documentation and follow-up.
  • Improve leadership capability through regular coaching and training sessions.
  • Increase employee engagement and retention through a visible HR presence and relationship building.
  • Use HR metrics including turnover, attendance, corrective actions, time-to-fill, and engagement to identify trends and recommend solutions.
  • Build collaborative, professional relationships with UNITE HERE Local 8 representatives while supporting organizational operational objectives.
