Job summary

Tri-County Head Start in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Human Resources Associate to support recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and records management. The role collaborates with the HR Director to ensure compliance and deliver customer-focused HR services in a childcare setting.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate's degree in HR/Business, with a Bachelor’s preferred, and experience with ADP/HRIS. A valid driver’s license and DHS clearance are required for employment.

• Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification may substitute for degree with relevant HR experience.
• Experience with ADP or similar HRIS preferred.

Role Overview:

The Human Resources Associate supports the Human Resources Director in creating a positive, efficient, and employee-centered workplace. This position serves as the first point of contact for many HR functions and plays a key role in recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, records management, compliance, and customer service while promoting Tri-County Head Start’s mission, vision, core values, and culture.

• Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification may be substituted for degree requirement when combined with relevant Human Resources experience.
  • Experience in ADP or similar HRIS system preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must obtain a valid Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.
• Must be cleared & allowed to work in a childcare setting by the Iowa Department of Human Services
