Position Overview

The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Human Resources Associate for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois to perform complex and specialized paraprofessional human resources functions. Assists with oversight and ensures compliance with the facility's Affirmative Attendance policies and procedures. Receives, documents and reviews all requests for employee time report corrections. Serves as back-up to the Worker’s Compensation Coordinator, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Credential and Privileges Coordinator. Assists professional and paraprofessional human resources staff in clerical functions. In the absence of the Human Resource Specialist serves as a member of the facility Credentialing and Privileging (C&P) Committee. Serves as office receptionist.

Essential Functions
  • Performs complex and specialized paraprofessional human resources functions.
  • Serves as back-up to the Worker’s Compensation Coordinator, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Coordinator and Credential and Privileges Coordinator.
  • Assists professional and paraprofessional human resources staff in clerical functions including but not limited to maintaining keyboarding and filing job descriptions.
  • In the absence of the Human Resources Specialist, serves as a member of the facility Credentialing and Privileging (C&P) Committee.
  • Serves as office receptionist.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
