PIHRA in Los Angeles is seeking an in-office Human Resources Assistant (part-time, 22.5 hours/week) to provide administrative support to the HR department. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, records maintenance, benefits, and compliance under the Director of HR.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience, with exposure to onboarding, recruiting, payroll, benefits administration, leave administration, employee relations, and compliance
  • A.A. degree; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel), HRIS platforms, and other cloud-based business applications
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of California labor laws, HR compliance requirements, and HR best practices
  • Familiar with Payroll/HRIS platforms
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Workflow automation tools and online forms

  • Prepare employment-related documents, including offer letters, employee communications, and other HR documentation.
  • Maintain personnel files, HR records, and document management systems in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding activities, including job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, and onboarding coordination.
  • Support employee benefits administration, including medical, dental, and vision enrollments, qualifying life event changes, open enrollment activities, and employee communications.
  • Tracks employee training, performance appraisal, compliance requirements, and recordkeeping
  • Support HR audits, compliance reviews, and personnel file audits.
  • Create fillable forms, reports, spreadsheets, and tracking tools
  • Assist with workflow automation, process improvements, and technology initiatives
  • Support the development and maintenance of employee handbooks, policies, forms, and HR resources
  • Help ensure HR records, processes, and employment practices align with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Partner with the HR team on special projects

Position Summary :

The Human Resources Assistant is an in-office temporary part-time position working 22.5 hours weekly.

The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative support and clerical duties for the Human Resources department. This position will assist with the general human resources functions including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, maintenance of personnel files, benefits, leave of absence, performance appraisal tracking, audits, correspondence and recordkeeping. This position will work under the direction of the Director of Human Resources.
