Job summary

Ohio Citizen Action is seeking an HR Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive support across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, and HR records management. The role emphasizes confidentiality, accuracy, and collaborative work with the CHRO and HR team.

The position offers exposure to timekeeping, payroll, benefits, and compliance tasks, with opportunities to engage in training sessions and special projects while supporting a positive, service-oriented workplace

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year of administrative, human resources, recruiting, or related experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; HRIS or applicant-tracking experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employment changes, and off-boarding.
  • Assist with job postings and recruiting records.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and coordinate new-hire activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems and personnel files.
  • Respond to routine employee questions; direct complex matters to CHRO.
  • Assist with timekeeping, payroll, benefits, leave, and compliance-related documentation.
  • Prepare HR correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Support employee engagement activities, training sessions, meetings, and special projects.
  • Handle employee and company information with confidentiality.
  • Perform other HR and administrative duties as assigned.
