Job summary

Aston Carter is hiring a Human Resources Assistant for a fully onsite 20-week assignment in Stratford, CT. The role supports HR functions, maintains confidential records, and assists with onboarding, benefits, and HR data reporting.

The incumbent will handle HR administration tasks, use MS Office including Excel, and ensure data integrity and compliance with procedures in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of human resources experience.
  • Experience providing administrative support in an HR or office environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in human resources administration and HR support.
  • Ability to perform clerical and administrative tasks such as filing and document management.
  • Basic understanding of HR functions such as employee records, onboarding, and HR systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail when maintaining records and preparing reports.

  • Furnish information to authorized persons and agencies in accordance with established procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Provide clear and accurate information to employees at all levels regarding HR policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Support HR administration activities, including onboarding, HR support tasks, and employee relations documentation.
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties such as filing, organizing records, and maintaining HR documentation.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, including Excel, to create, update, and manage HR documents, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Assist with HR systems data entry and updates, ensuring records remain current and complete.
  • Provide human resources administrative support to ensure timely completion of HR tasks and adherence to internal timelines.
  • Collaborate with HR team members and other departments to support HR-related initiatives and day‑to‑day operations.

Work Environment

This role is fully onsite in Stratford, CT, for a 20‑week assignment. The position follows a rotating schedule: one week consists of a standard schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, and the following week consists of 10‑hour shifts for 4 days. The work is performed in a professional office environment supporting human resources operations, using standard office equipment and Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, for daily tasks. The setting emphasizes confidentiality, accuracy, and adherence to established HR procedures and guidelines, with a focus on collaborative work with HR colleagues and other departments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Stratford, CT.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
