Job summary

Clarity Recruiting represents a global sports technology company seeking an experienced HR professional to serve as the lead People Advisor for North America. You will partner with business leaders and global HR teams to drive employee engagement, ensure compliance, support growth, and deliver strategic people initiatives across the region.

The role is based in NYC, onsite 5 days a week, and offers a competitive hourly compensation of $45-$50 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience supporting multiple functions and locations.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance.
  • Experience with payroll, benefits, HR operations, and organizational initiatives.
  • Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR advisor for North America, guiding leaders and employees on employee relations, performance management, coaching, and workforce matters.
  • Partner with divisional HR leaders, Centers of Excellence, Talent Acquisition, and People Operations to deliver a seamless employee experience.
  • Lead employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation while ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive and compliant employee experience.
  • Oversee payroll administration, employment contracts, and data management, coordinating with payroll providers and agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including EEO, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, and others.
  • Support health and safety initiatives, risk management, compliance training, and data integrity efforts.
  • Implement global and regional HR initiatives, talent programs, learning and development strategies, and organizational change at the local level.
  • Partner with leadership to foster engagement, collaboration, inclusion, and company values.
  • Drive engagement, DEI, and retention initiatives for both on-site and remote employees.
  • Support performance management processes including goal setting, talent reviews, and development planning.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate local training programs with Learning & Development teams to enhance capabilities.
  • Serve as SME on mobility, immigration, and relocation matters with legal and immigration providers as needed.

Our client, a global sports technology company, is seeking an experienced HR professional to serve as the lead People Advisor for North America. The ideal candidate brings strong employee relations expertise, operational excellence, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a fast-paced, international environment.

Location: NYC (5x/week onsite)

Hours: Full-Time

Compensation: $45-50/hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs and collaborate with external vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate local training programs and partner with Learning & Development teams to enhance employee capabilities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on mobility, immigration, and relocation matters, partnering with legal and external immigration providers as needed.
Ideal Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, ideally supporting multiple business functions and locations.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws, HR best practices, employee relations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, HR operations, and organizational initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and coach leaders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving, and globally matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday, Paycom, or similar systems.
  • Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
