Job summary

Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe is seeking an experienced Human Resources Administrator to coordinate, develop and administer the organization's HR functions under the CFO. The role emphasizes bilingual, bicultural responsiveness and alignment with mission and funding requirements.

The Administrator provides technical guidance to department heads, ensures legal compliance with employment laws, and leads pay plans, benefits coordination, orientation and training programs, as well as staff records

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HR administration practices including recruitment, classification, salary administration, training and affirmative action.
  • Knowledge of safety programs and policies; training techniques and program development.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local HR laws and policies.
  • Ability to plan, organize, administer and coordinate HR program activities.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus among groups.
  • Experience supervising, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word or similar word processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Ensure legal compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain management guidelines and ensure HR function is current and updated.
  • Maintain historical HR records.
  • Supervise the HR staff and oversee HR aspects of the Organization’s staff.
  • Administers Credential and completes files on required staff.
  • Prepares new hire for assignments by orientation and training programs.
  • Assist the CFO with administration of an equitable pay plan.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results.
  • Coordinate and maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits.
  • Administers the Environment of Care program.
  • Recruitment.
  • Responsible for administration and coordination of the safety/accident prevention program.
  • Participates in Administrative meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Administrator is responsible for the daily coordination, development and administration of the organization’s human resources functions. Work involves planning and implementing a variety of administrative management activities. Responsible for providing technical support and guidance to department heads and supervisors in order to best achieve efficient human resources administration. Ensures operational compliance with required federal and state employment and labor guidelines. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the human resources functions of the organization in order to ensure La Fe’s mission, goal and objectives are accomplished in accordance with bilingual, bicultural responsiveness prescribed operational priorities and funding revenue requirements. Frequently exercises initiative and independent judgment.

Required Skills
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration; including methods and techniques used in recruitment and selection, classification, salary administration, training and affirmative action.
  • Knowledge of proper safety programs and policies; training techniques and program development.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and policies as related to human resources administration.
  • Ability to plan, organize, administrate and coordinate the activities of the program.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal constructively with conflict and achieving consensus among dissenting groups or individuals.
  • Ability to select, supervise, train, and evaluate subordinates.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word or other compatible word processing or data software.

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 2-3 years of administrative, human resources, nonprofit experience preferred.
Required Experience
  • Three years of professional experience in personnel administration
