Lighthouse Manufacturing in Portsmouth, NH is seeking an experienced Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to support our manufacturing operations. You will work closely with management, production supervisors, and staff to handle payroll, employee relations, recruiting, and HR administration, with approximately 20 hours per week

Compensation: $28 - $35 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview

Lighthouse Manufacturing is seeking an experienced, hands-on Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing HR background, demonstrated proficiency with Paychex Flex, and the ability to independently manage day-to-day human resources responsibilities.

This position will work closely with management, production supervisors, and employees to support payroll, recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll, manage timekeeping, and maintain employee records using Paychex Flex.
• Coordinate employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel administration.
• Support recruitment and hiring for manufacturing, skilled trades, and administrative positions.
• Assist management with employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary matters.
• Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and workers' compensation documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and company policies.
• Monitor attendance, overtime, paid time off, and payroll adjustments.
• Provide practical HR guidance to management and production supervisors.
• Maintain accurate and confidential HR records.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of human resources experience, including experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Hands-on Paychex Flex experience required, including payroll processing, employee records, and timekeeping.
• Experience supporting hourly manufacturing employees and production supervisors.
• Working knowledge of payroll administration, wage and hour laws, and HR compliance.
• Ability to independently manage HR responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication, organizational, and employee relations skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, or machine shop operations.
• Experience recruiting CNC machinists, quality inspectors, and other skilled manufacturing personnel.
• Familiarity with Paychex Flex Time & Attendance and benefits administration.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification.
• Experience supporting small to mid-sized manufacturing businesses.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time, on-site position requiring approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate payroll deadlines and business needs.
