Position Overview:

The HR Generalist at Stella-Jones is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with our Western Regional HR Manager, supporting regional manufacturing plants. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

This position will be based at our Tacoma manufacturing plant / regional corporate office with some hybrid work once trained and integrated into the team. The role will involve significant travel (expected to be up to 35%) to other Stella-Jones manufacturing facilities in Washington, Idaho, and other states to support HR initiatives, conduct training, and facilitate employee relations discussions.

• Post open positions, review resumes, and schedule interviews
• Performs pre-screen interviews and serves as point of contact for candidates
• Schedules and facilitates new hire orientation
• Responsible for data entry of employee information in Dayforce system; ensures all changes are supported with proper documentation
• Uploads documents and maintains files with timely updates
• Assists with payroll
• Ensures time and attendance tracking and approvals are completed on time.
• Assists in administering employee policies
• Provides advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
• Responsible for providing monthly HR reporting and statistics
• Responds to inquiries regarding health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k, or EAP
• Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews
• Participates and contributes to the company safety program
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Key Qualifications:

• Five (5) or more years of Human Resources Generalist work experience required
• Manufacturing HR experience required
