Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Maintain HRIS and related data entry processes.
  • Work with Benefit Manager on Leave of Absence data and communications.
  • Generate routine and special reports from HRIS.
  • Manage disciplinary actions and coaching forms.
  • Maintain employee and applicant documentation per regulations.
  • Coordinate employee tracking in HRIS (UKG Pro).
  • Assist with notifications for hires/transfers and benefits.
  • Maintain personnel files and status changes.
  • Assist with audits with Payroll, Finance and Compliance.
  • Ensure I-9 and labor law compliance.
  • Support recruitment events and job fairs.
  • Assist HR Managers with daily duties and tasks.

Job description

Essential JOB Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Complete working knowledge of Downstream Casino Resort HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Works closely with the Benefit Manager on Leave of Absence Data Entry and Communication to Departmental Management.
  • Generate routine Status Change reports and special requested reports as assigned.
  • Manage and track all employee disciplinary actions (file coaching forms).
  • Responsible for maintaining all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Coordinate and maintain all Employee Tracking in HRIS such as entering new hires and transfers (full working knowledge of DCR HR Information System UKG Pro).
  • Assist with the QNGA, Wardrobe, and Benefits Manager on the notification of any new hires, transfers, etc.
  • Maintain employee personnel files; including but not limited to, status changes.
  • Complete VOE, garnishments, and other forms as needed.
  • Work with other departments such as Payroll, Finance, & Compliance during audit process as needed.
  • Learn, understand, and apply all Tribal, Federal, and State Regulations applicable to HR.
  • Assist HR Managers with routine reporting including but not limited to: Turnover, Turnover by Department, FT/PT Analysis, Position Report, Employee Relations Log, and Employee Comments Report.
  • Cross train in benefit plans and processes to assist and backup Benefits Manager.
  • Ensure all I-9 forms and any other labor laws are up to date and follow.
  • Will work at the HR Front Desk as needed.
  • Supports Job Fairs and other employment recruitment events.
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring Employee Performance Evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Gather, coordinate, and assist with administration of the Team Member of the Month, Leader of the Quarter and Team Member and Leader of Year Programs.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources with daily duties/tasks.
  • At all times acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Downstream Casino Resort.
  • Completes and updates Organizational Charts as needed.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies and attends all necessary meetings.
  • Assist in other projects and duties as requested.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of MMS (Material Management Systems) Software preferred.
  • Knowledge of UKG Pro, Laserfiche and MagicInfo.

  • Previous experience in human resources, employment, or experience in the casino industry.
  • Professional appearance and team player.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must possess the ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in subordinate employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND WORK DEMANDS:
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
  • Able to lift and carry upwards of ten pounds.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at the assigned desk area.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including 10-key adding machines, personal computers, fax machines, and photocopiers
  • Respond to visual and oral cues
  • Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.

Education
Required

High School or better.

Preferred

Bachelors or better in Human Resource Administration.
