Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of progressive leadership or management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new-hire orientations, forms, badges, and first-day communications.
  • Submit onboarding access requests and HR system entries.
  • Coordinate student shadowing requests, track requirements, and follow up on missing items.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records, including scanning, uploading, filing, and audits.
  • Maintain HRIS data with accuracy, effective dates, and consistency.
  • Prepare reports for onboarding, evaluations, compliance, and HR activities.
  • Provide front-line HR service by answering phones and greeting staff.
  • Support HR process improvement, cross-training, and continuity coverage.
  • Assist with leave administration (FMLA, ADA, workers' comp) and documentation.
  • Guide on routine policy questions; refer complex matters to HR Director.
  • Track evaluations, update changes, and prepare progress reports.
  • Support compliance tasks: background checks, license tracking, invoices, job descriptions, and compensation projects.

Human Resource Generalist (Full Time)

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resource Generalist who is ready to join an amazing Human Resource team and make a difference at the largest and most clinically capable Critical Access Hospital in Kansas. Join our team at Newman Regional Health and help support the employees who provide exceptional care to our patients and community every day. This is a Full Time Position Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

The Human Resource Generalist provides broad, hands-on support across the employee lifecycle and daily Human Resources operations. The position independently coordinates assigned recruitment and onboarding activities, maintains accurate employee and HRIS records, supports benefits and leave administration, assists with employee relations and performance management, and helps ensure consistent application of policies and employment practices. In Newman Regional Health's healthcare environment, the Generalist partners with HR leadership, department leaders, Finance, Information Services, Education, and employees to support timely service, compliance, operational continuity, and a positive employee experience.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate new-hire appointments, orientation schedules, required forms, name badges, and first-day communications.
  • Submit onboarding access requests, share required employee information, and complete assigned HR system entries.
  • Coordinate student shadowing requests, maintain tracking tools, and follow up on missing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records, including scanning, uploading, filing, and completing periodic audits.
  • Maintain employee data in HRIS and related systems, ensuring accuracy, effective dates, and consistency.
  • Prepare reports and tracking tools for onboarding, evaluations, compliance, workforce activity, and HR operations.
  • Provide front-line HR service by answering phones, greeting employees and visitors, monitoring HR mailboxes, and routing questions.
  • Support HR process improvement, cross-training, workflow documentation, and continuity coverage for essential HR functions.
  • Assist with leave administration, including FMLA, ADA, workers compensation, documentation, reminders, and confidential recordkeeping.
  • Provide guidance on routine policy questions and refer complex employee relations matters to the Human Resource Director.
  • Track performance evaluations, communicate past-due items, update authorized changes, and prepare progress reports.
  • Support compliance and HR administration, including background checks, screening, license tracking, invoices, reconciliations, job descriptions, and compensation projects.
Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and directly related HR experience may be considered.
  • Proficient with HR information systems platforms (Meditech Expanse preferred), Advanced Excel and reporting skills Knowledge of HR compliance and benefits administration
  • Three to five years of progressive leadership or management experience
