Norwood Medical in Dayton, OH is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to oversee shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling in support of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory control to support operations.
  • Execute logistics plans aligned with production schedules.
  • Coordinate movement of materials to meet delivery commitments.
  • Monitor inventory levels and escalate supply concerns as needed.
  • Develop and report logistics metrics (on-time shipments, accuracy, costs).
  • Lead cycle counts and drive inventory accuracy improvements.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service and Finance.
  • Ensure compliant and cost-effective product shipments and transport relations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supervise daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory control, and material handling activities to ensure uninterrupted support of manufacturing operations.
  • Execute logistics and inventory plans developed in support of operational and production schedules.
  • Coordinate the movement of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods throughout the facility to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material availability and **escalate** supply concerns that may impact production schedules or customer deliveries.
  • Support the development and execution of operational plans through accurate inventory management, material flow coordination, and logistics performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service, and Finance teams to ensure alignment between operational requirements and material availability.
  • Ensure the timely and cost-effective shipment of products while maintaining compliance with customer requirements and company procedures.
  • Manage relationships with transportation providers and coordinate inbound and outbound freight activities.
  • Develop, monitor, and report logistics metrics including on-time shipments, inventory accuracy, cycle count compliance, freight costs, warehouse productivity, and service levels.
  • Lead cycle count and inventory reconciliation activities and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives through material flow improvements and warehouse organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and support company profitability objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop logistics personnel while promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Support staffing, scheduling, performance management, and employee development activities within the logistics function.
Skills:
  • Proven leadership experience in logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or related field.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, or similar inventory management systems.
  • Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, and transportation management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data-driven analysis with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects, and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Able to work independently and cross-functionally.
