City of Cleveland Heights is seeking an experienced human resources professional to handle advanced HR duties including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, and HRIS management. Under limited supervision, performs advanced-level professional personnel work in functional areas as assigned which may include, but are not limited to, employee relations, recruitment, selection, training and organizational development, classification development, compensation management, and/or maintaining human resources information systems (HRIS). Incumbents have broad-based accountability and are responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programs; serving as an expert resource in one or more functions; providing guidance; and handle programs or activities which are highly sensitive and have high levels of liability and risk.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field and two years of professional-level human resources experience. Substitution(s): A Master’s degree in any of the fields previously listed may be substituted for 1 year of the required experience.
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations governing human resource functions such as FMLA, Title VII, COBRA, FLSA, etc.; human resources principles and practices in assigned area of responsibility, which may include recruitment, testing and selection, compensation, classification, employee relations, organizational development, and/or training; compensation programs and administration; benefit programs and administration; using a computer and related software applications; extensive experience in data entry; ability to maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
