Peninsula Post Acute in Burlingame, CA, is seeking an HR/Payroll Coordinator to manage onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR support on-site at our facility.

You'll partner with leadership to ensure accurate payroll, compliant personnel records, and a positive employee experience. The role requires attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll and human resources experience.
• Healthcare, skilled nursing, or post-acute experience preferred.
• Workday experience highly preferred.
• Knowledge of California labor laws, payroll practices, and employment regulations.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, communication, and customer service skills.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll weekly and bi-weekly accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain electronic timekeeping records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientations, and background checks.
• Maintain confidential personnel files in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Administer benefits (health insurance and retirement plans).
• Track leaves, workers' compensation, and employee documentation for compliance.
• Serve as main contact for payroll, benefits, and HR policy questions.
• Assist with reporting, audits, and other HR admin tasks.
• Foster a positive, welcoming workplace culture.

What You'll Do

As our HR/Payroll Coordinator, you'll be a trusted resource for our employees throughout their journey—from onboarding through payroll, benefits, and day-to-day HR support. You'll work closely with leadership to ensure our team members are paid accurately, supported professionally, and treated with care.

• Process payroll weekly and bi-weekly accurately and on schedule.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of payroll and human resources experience.
• Industry: Healthcare, skilled nursing, or post-acute experience is preferred.
• Systems: Experience using payroll software and HRIS systems (Workday experience is highly preferred).
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of California labor laws, payroll practices, and employment regulations.
• Skills: Excellent organizational, time-management, communication, and customer service skills.
• Traits: High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
