Job summary

Rimkus is seeking a Support Specialist, Human Factors to support our operations group in client services. You will manage client-supplied materials and summarize depositions and discovery with a focus on law firms and manufacturers.

You will project a professional company image in all communications, act as a responsive point of contact, draft correspondence, and track case status for over 100 active cases. This role requires strong organization and legal support skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, certificate, or equivalent coursework preferred in legal studies or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience as a paralegal, legal secretary, or legal assistant in a law firm, legal department, or legal services firm.
• Experience supporting civil litigation matters strongly preferred.
• Experience working with manufacturers or product liability matters a plus.
• Proficiency with PACER and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat).

Responsibilities

• Receive, organize, log, and maintain client-supplied legal materials including pleadings, correspondence, exhibits, and electronic files.
• Establish, maintain and accurately track document deadlines and provide status updates to supervising attorneys or project managers.
• Ensure chain-of-custody integrity and confidentiality for all client materials.
• Read, analyze, and prepare concise, accurate summaries of depositions and witness testimony.
• Identify gaps and coordinate with clients for additional materials.
• Review and summarize discovery materials including interrogatories and other requests.
• Draft professional correspondence, transmittal letters, and follow-up communications.
• Track court case status and assist in organizing activities for a large caseload.
• Prepare files for transmission to clients and opposing counsel for depositions and trial appearances.
• Coordinate scheduling of meetings, depositions, and deadlines using shared calendars and project tracking tools.
• Maintain awareness of applicable legal and procedural rules relevant to client matters.
• Communicate with Legal Department regarding subpoenas and deadlines.
• Assist with compiling responsive documents to subpoenas, including redactions.
