RTX in Tucson, AZ is hiring a Human Factors Engineer II to develop and lead Human Factors programs within integrated product teams. You will coordinate with customers on requirements, perform hazard analyses, and document HF activities across software, hardware, and test teams. The role emphasizes MIL-STD-1472 alignment and safety-first design.

The position requires a STEM degree and 2+ years in HF, HSI, or safety engineering, with preferred DoD clearance and aerospace experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 2+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with Human Factors Engineering, Human Systems Integration, or Safety Engineering
• Experience with hardware and/or software
• Active/Existing DoD clearance preferred
• Experience with defense, aerospace, or safety-critical systems
• Experience with requirements development or systems engineering processes
• Experience with usability evaluation, task analysis, or human performance concepts
• Experience with user interface design concepts, wireframing, or prototyping tools
• Experience with MIL-STD-1472 human factors concepts
• Experience with MIL-STD-882 system safety concepts

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Human Factors programs per MIL-STD-1472
• Lead HF engineering efforts across product teams
• Coordinate with customer HF representatives on requirements
• Prepare internal and customer reports documenting analyses
• Interface with multiple engineering teams to ensure HF integration
• Present HF considerations during reviews and engineering processes
• Interpret requirements and applicable standards
• Contribute to hazard analyses and design evaluations
