Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Human Factors Engineer to lead Human Factors Engineering (HFE) and Human Systems Integration (HSI) across programs onsite in a closed area. You will drive MIL-STD-1472–compliant HFE programs, work with customers and IPTs, and guide system safety and usability across the lifecycle.

You will mentor engineers, support proposals, and travel up to 20%. The role requires 8+ years in HFE/HSI with a STEM background and DoD experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• 8+ years of relevant experience in HFE/HSI or safety engineering
• Experience with DoD HFE programs (MIL-STD-1472)
• Experience developing Human Engineering Plans and Analyses

Responsibilities

• Lead HFE/HSI for one or more programs across the system lifecycle
• Develop MIL-STD-1472–compliant HFE programs and analyses
• Interface with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure human-centered design
• Drive HFE integration across IPTs and influence system architecture
• Lead HFE contributions to system safety and risk mitigation
• Coordinate with government stakeholders to allocate HFE requirements
• Review and provide oversight of HFE analyses and reports
• Brief status, risks, and recommendations to leadership and reviews boards
• Mentor engineers and support proposal efforts
• Travel up to 20%
