Job summary

MDHA is seeking an HCV Special Programs Specialist to administer the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program within the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Under the RA Special Project Manager, you will provide rental assistance, eligibility support and coordination with VA case managers to help eligible Veterans secure and maintain housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration or a related field; three years of related experience.
• An associate degree or industry certifications may substitute for a Bachelor's; five+ years of related experience may substitute.
• Familiarity with HUD-VASH, HUD requirements and Housing Choice Voucher program.
• Understanding of landlord and tenant rights, rental and subsidized housing guidelines and laws.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Yardi.

Responsibilities

• Process HUD-VASH referrals and determine eligibility with VA collaboration.
• Monitor annual and interim recertifications and lease-up timelines.
• Maintain accurate participant records and prepare files for audits.
• Ensure program compliance with HUD regulations and MDHA policies.
• Collaborate with VA Medical Center case managers and community partners.
