About Promise Resource Network

Promise Resource Network is a nonprofit survivor-led organization that disrupts illness-based approaches to mental health and substance use by understanding the impacts of trauma and supporting healing, wellness, and recovery.

About The Position

The Hub Peer Support Specialist is a key member of the PRN team, providing compassionate, trauma-informed, person-centered peer support services within the Recovery Hub, including the Recovery Café and harm reduction programs. This role helps create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for individuals on their recovery journey. This position is ideal for someone with lived experience of recovery from substance use, mental health challenges, or both, who is passionate about harm reduction, mutual aid, and community wellness. The Peer Support Specialist position will assist in daily activities at the Recovery Hub, including the Recovery Cafe and Harm Reduction. These responsibilities include providing peer support, facilitating classes, conducting outreach to community partners, inventory management, and sharing lived experience with community members that attend the hub/cafe. The peer support specialist support focuses on increasing the individual’s desire to live as independently as possible and being an active participant in their recovery journey while reestablishing their community roles related to the 8 dimensions of wellness as defined by SAMSHA. (ex. Spiritual, Emotional, Physical, Occupational, Social, Intellectual, Environmental, Financial). They will be responsible for ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment, assisting visitors with inquiries, and providing administrative support to the organization and leadership team.
