INCLUDES: Registration Official, Technical Director, Competition Director, Chief Steward, Tech Inspector, Black Flag Official, Pre-Grid Official, Pace Car Driver, Pit Road Person, Pit Road Inspector, Set-up Personal, and Operations Personal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform registration duties for all entrants, drivers, and guests.
  • Perform tech inspection duties on cars entered in each event.
  • Oversee the running of the events from Race Control.
  • Investigate on-track incidents and Issue penalties and probation where needed.
  • Maintain proficiency in and knowledge of all pit road rules and penalties.
  • Implement/apply the appropriate pit road/race procedures in a consistent, timely, and professional manner.
  • Establish and maintain proper communications with the assigned crew chief(s) and/or Race Control as required.
  • Properly execute and confirm any directive from Race Control.
  • Perform duties in a timely and authoritative manner while portraying a professional image.
  • Competent understanding of radio use, procedures, and etiquette.
  • Responsible for securing equipment (e.g., binoculars, watch, flags, radios) for duties assigned and for performing routine checks on same.
  • Attend meetings and educational seminars.
  • Approximate travel 90%.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Customer service, people skills, representing Company. The use of a computer is helpful. The position is safety sensitive and participates in the corporate Substance Abuse Program (SAP).
