Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Specialty Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Human Systems Analysis and Compliance team on the Sentinel HSI program in Huntsville, AL. This role oversees HSIP/HESAR deliverables and requires a Secret clearance and US citizenship.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with program management, and drive cross-functional collaboration with HFE, UX, and systems engineering while managing staffing and career development.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with active Secret clearance within last 6 years.
• Ability to obtain SAP approval when required.
• 1+ year in CAM/WPL or equivalent.
• 1+ year program/project management experience in defense.
• 1+ year HSA in defense contracting.
• 1+ year requirements compliance in defense systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop a team of Systems Engineers & Human Factors Engineers supporting a complex weapon system program.
• Plan HSA and Compliance scope, staffing, and budgets with program management and systems engineering.
• Manage execution to cost and schedule—tracking and EV on work packages within HSA and Compliance.
• Promote integration across HSA, HFE, UX, systems engineering, and program teams.
• Own the HSIP CDRL development, maintenance, and delivery.
• Own the HESAR CDRL development, integration, and delivery.
• Establish and maintain HSI/HSA compliance artifacts, including traceability & verification evidence.
• Collaborate with Human Factors Engineering and UX leads to reflect findings in designs.
• Provide risk-based recommendations balancing performance, safety, cost, and schedule.
• Present HSA results and HSIP/HESAR content to leadership, customers, and review boards.
• Support staffing activities including requisitions, interviews, and offers.
• Provide mentoring and performance coaching to subordinates.
