Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Florida is seeking a motivated HSE Student to join the Florida Buildings Group across Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale‑Miami.

This 4 or 8 month program starts in May 2027 and offers hands‑on experience on real projects while you advance your OH&S studies. You will monitor and assist with the project HSE plan, support training, help create action plans, conduct inspections, and contribute to incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Working toward Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Knowledge of OH&S, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Some knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• Strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist with implementation of the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.
• Identify and assist in conducting project specific HSE training.
• Provide project team with HSE information and trends and assist to create action plans.
• Assist with development and implementation of hazard identification tools.
• Conduct project HSE inspections and verify corrective actions.
• Support project teams with the emergency response plan and monitor security requirements.
• Gather, review, and provide input on trade documentation and monitor safety compliance.
• Verify equipment and tool inspections are conducted and documented as required.
• Notify stakeholders of incidents and support investigations.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships.

Join us as aHSE Studentfor the Florida Buildings Groupdistrict, within our US Buildings sectorfor 4 or 8 months starting May 2027Depending on your assigned project as a HSE Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Monitors and assists with implementation of the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and any other safe work practices.
• Identifies and assists in conducting project specific HSE training.
• Provides project team with project specific HSE information and trends and assists to create action plans.
• Assists with the development and implementation of hazard identification tools.
• Conducts project HSE inspections and verifies that corrective actions have been implemented.
• Supports project teams with the implementation of the emergency response plan and monitors project security requirements.
• Gathers, reviews, and provides input on trade documentation and monitors trade contractor safety compliance.
• Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per requirements.
• Notifies appropriate stakeholders of any incident and supporting the investigation.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Working toward Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Working toward safety designation.
• Knowledge of applicable OH&S, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Some knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• A strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
