Job summary

PCL Digital Infrastructure, Inc. in Abilene, Texas, is seeking a motivated HSE Student to support a national data center business unit.

Join a 119-year-old company with growth projections and gain hands-on experience on real projects, mentored by seasoned professionals in a structured program. You will monitor HSE plans, support training, and contribute to safety compliance across the Digital Infrastructure district during May to August 2027.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Pursuing safety designation or relevant certification.
• Knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Some knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• Strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist with implementation of the project HSE Plan and environmental requirements.
• Support development and delivery of project-specific HSE training.
• Provide project teams with HSE information, trends, and action plans.
• Assist with hazard identification tools and hazard control measures.
• Conduct project HSE inspections and verify corrective actions.
• Support emergency response plan implementation and project security requirements.
• Assist with trade documentation review and safety compliance of contractors.
• Verify equipment and tool inspections are conducted and documented.
• Notify stakeholders of incidents and support investigations.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with project teams.

Join us as aHSE Studentfor our Digital Infrastructuredistrict, within our US Buildings sector from May to August 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a HSE Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Monitors and assists with implementation of the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and any other safe work practices.
• Identifies and assists in conducting project specific HSE training.
• Provides project team with project specific HSE information and trends and assists to create action plans.
• Assists with the development and implementation of hazard identification tools.
• Conducts project HSE inspections and verifies that corrective actions have been implemented.
• Supports project teams with the implementation of the emergency response plan and monitors project security requirements.
• Gathers, reviews, and provides input on trade documentation and monitors trade contractor safety compliance.
• Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per requirements.
• Notifies appropriate stakeholders of any incident and supporting the investigation.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships.
