Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Denver, Colorado, invites you to join as an HSE Student, gaining hands-on health, safety and environment experience with the Denver District HSE team, mentored throughout the internship/co-op.

Responsibilities include assisting with inspections, orientation, safety documentation, and implementing project safety plans; you will participate in company events and volunteer opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the US
• OSHA 10/30 Certification required or training in progress
• 18 years of age or older with a valid Driver’s License
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organized and able to collaborate
• Experience with MS Office and basic construction industry software

Responsibilities

• Assist site HSE with inspections and incident investigations
• Assist with new-employee orientation
• Manage and review safety documents per project standards
• Collect and distribute safety-related statistics
• Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans
• Deliver safety programs to site personnel and conduct safety orientations
• Support PSI program implementation and audits
• Other duties as assigned

As aHSE Student for PCL Construction Services, Inc.in Denver, Colorado, you will be given similar responsibilities as a full-time, entry-level Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) coordinator, so you are able to experience what a career will be like in construction. You will work alongside the Denver District HSE team and be involved in several aspects of the health, safety, and environment programs and compliance of a project. We will designate a mentor for you who will be available to you for the duration of the internship/co-op. You will also have the opportunity to participate in company events and community volunteer opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assists site HSE professional with inspections and incident investigations.
• Assists with the orientation of new employees.
• Manages and reviews relevant safety documents according to company and project standard.
• Gathers, reviews, and distributes safety-related statistical information.
• Assists with the development and implementation of the project specific HSE plan.
• Delivers the Safety programs to site personnel and safety orientation.
• Assists Safety department on the implementation of HSE programs in compliance with company standards,state and OSHA regulations.
• Assists with the inputting of Safety related statistics, daily/weekly HSE documentation in company specificdatabase.
• Assists with the implementation and monitoring of the PSI program and conduct PSI audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Having reliable transportation.
• The successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well asorganizational and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) and otherconstruction industry related software
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Hazard anticipation, identification, and assessment training.
• Experience researching and compiling information regarding occupational health and industrial hygiene policies,procedures, and standards.
• OSHA 10 Hour or OSHA 30 Hour Certificate of Training.
• Must be authorized to work in the US *PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H1-B, etc.) for thisposition
• 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License
• Available to work in Denver, CO, full time from May to August
