Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. seeks a motivated HSE Student to gain hands-on experience within the Florida Buildings Group district, spanning Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale-Miami.

You will monitor HSE plans, assist training, and help implement safety practices on active projects. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, with strong communication skills and an interest in construction processes.

Qualifications

• Working toward Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Working toward safety designation.
• Knowledge of applicable OH&S, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Some knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• A strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and assists with implementation of the project HSE Plan and environmental plan.
• Identifies and assists in conducting project specific HSE training.
• Provides project team with HSE information and trends and helps create action plans.
• Assists with the development and implementation of hazard identification tools.
• Conducts project HSE inspections and verifies corrective actions.
• Supports project teams with the emergency response plan and monitors security requirements.
• Gathers and reviews trade documentation and monitors safety compliance.
• Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are conducted and documented per requirements.
• Notifies stakeholders of incidents and supports investigations.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships.

Join us as aHSE Studentfor the Florida Buildings Groupdistrict, within our US Buildings sectorfor 4 or 8 months starting May 2027Depending on your assigned project as aHSE Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Monitors and assists with implementation of the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and any other safe work practices.
• Identifies and assists in conducting project specific HSE training.
• Provides project team with project specific HSE information and trends and assists to create action plans.
• Assists with the development and implementation of hazard identification tools.
• Conducts project HSE inspections and verifies that corrective actions have been implemented.
• Supports project teams with the implementation of the emergency response plan and monitors project security requirements.
• Gathers, reviews, and provides input on trade documentation and monitors trade contractor safety compliance.
• Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per requirements.
• Notifies appropriate stakeholders of any incident and supporting the investigation.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships.
