Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Denver, CO, invites motivated students to join as Health, Safety, and Environment Students for the US Buildings sector. This 3-month summer opportunity offers hands-on safety experiences on real projects.

You will support inspections, orientation, HSE documentation, and program delivery while learning from site professionals. The role emphasizes OSHA compliance, strong communication, and teamwork, with a weekly pay structure and potential for future full-time

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, plus organizational and interpersonal skills.
• MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) proficiency.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• OSHA 10 or 30 hour certificate required.
• Authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship.
• 18+ with valid Driver’s License.
• Available to work in Colorado full time May–August.

Responsibilities

• Assist site HSE with inspections and incident investigations.
• Assist with new employee orientation.
• Manage and review safety documents per standards.
• Gather, review and distribute safety statistics.
• Assist in development and implementation of project HSE plan.
• Deliver safety programs and orientation to site personnel.
• Assist with HSE program implementation per standards and regulations.
• Input safety statistics and HSE documentation.
• Assist with PSI program and PSI audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Join us as aHealth, Safety, and Environment Studentfor our Denverdistrict, within our US Buildings sectorfor 3 months. Depending on your assigned project as a Health, Safety, and Environment Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Assists site HSE professional with inspections and incident investigations.
• Assists with the orientation of new employees.
• Manages and reviews relevant safety documents according to company and project standard.
• Gathers, reviews, and distributes safety-related statistical information.
• Assists with the development and implementation of the project specific HSE plan.
• Delivers the Safety programs to site personnel and safety orientation.
• Assists Safety department on the implementation of HSE programs in compliance with company standards, state and OSHA regulations.
• Assists with the inputting of Safety related statistics, daily/weekly HSE documentation in company specific database.
• Assists with the implementation and monitoring of the PSI program and conduct PSI audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation.
• The successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) and other construction industry related software.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Hazard anticipation, identification, and assessment training.
• Experience researching and compiling information regarding occupational health and industrial hygiene policies, procedures, and standards.
• OSHA 10 Hour or OSHA 30 Hour Certificate of Training.
• Must be authorized to work in the US *PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H1-B, etc.) for this position.
• 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Available to work in Colorado full time from May to August.

The salary range for this position is between $22 and $28 an hour, based on experience and qualifications. We anticipate this requisition will be open for a minimum of five days, though it may be open for a longer period of time.
