Job summary

KIND is seeking an HSE Specialist for our High Point site to drive the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems. You will partner with the HSE Manager and site leadership to implement action plans, ensure regulatory readiness, and foster a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities include audits, incident investigations, training development, and program improvement across air, water, waste, and contractor management, with a focus on practical, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science (ex. engineering, IH, safety) preferred.
• Experience implementing HSE programs and driving compliance across multiple functions.
• Ability to translate complex safety concepts into practical actions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in translating the HSE action plan into sequenced work plans with owners and milestones.
• Maintain audit-ready state by supporting compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Track actions from audits, inspections, and investigations to closure with evidence.
• Support implementation of MARS Critical Life Saving Standards.
• Develop site-specific HSE programs, procedures, and records by prioritization.
• Provide expert counsel and leadership alongside the HSE Manager.
• Lead root cause analyses using HOP principles and approved tools.
• Prepare recurring trend summaries of leading/lagging indicators.
• Champion hazard-recognition through daily safety conversations and field engagement.
• Support deployment of a site training matrix linking roles to hazards and requirements.
• Develop engaging, site-specific training and communications for diverse audiences.
