Job summary

Nordex Group in Iowa seeks an experienced HSE Specialist to implement health, safety, environmental programs at a specific site. You will work with Production, Engineering, Quality to drive best HSE performance and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.

You will lead audits, training, and corrective actions to prevent incidents. The role requires 2+ years in manufacturing HSE, OSHA 30, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or HSE qualification preferred.
• OSHA certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in HSE in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to HSE.
• Ability to complete OSHA 30.
• Strong HSE engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to train and coach Manufacturing employees.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor implementation of health, safety, occupational and environmental programs to prevent injuries and illnesses for a specific location.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements related to environmental, occupational, health and safety.
• Execute an environmental and occupational, health and safety training plan with P&C.
• Develop and manage an environmental and employee health & safety training plan.
• Participate in projects related to continuous improvement in HSE.
• Perform comprehensive analyses of HSE incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Manage relationships with community groups and stakeholders involved in environmental performance.
• Provide expert advice and support plant management to achieve safe operating conditions.
• Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 programs across Nordex USA Manufacturing, LLC.
• Lead Safety Committee and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coach leaders on corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain Plant Safety Plan and deliver HSE training to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and support HSE alerts, notices, and best practices site-wide.
• Track and follow up on proposed HSE improvements for timely execution.
• Conduct safety and environmental audits and root-cause investigations.
