Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs and policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, risk assessment, and incident prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  2. Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  3. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
  4. Deliver training programs on safety procedures, emergency response, and proper equipment use.
  5. Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  6. Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety.
  7. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  8. Participate in safety audits and support external inspections.
  9. Recommend improvements to minimize hazards and reduce risk.
  10. Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  2. 2+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or healthcare.
  3. Certification such as CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30/40-hour training is a plus.
  4. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  5. Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Working Conditions:
  1. May require occasional travel to different sites or facilities.
  2. Must be able to work in various environments including office, warehouse, and field settings.
  3. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
