Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a Safety Specialist II to enhance and maintain health, safety, and environmental programs. This role conducts comprehensive safety assessments, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides expert HSE guidance to internal stakeholders across multiple environments.

The successful candidate will lead HSE policy implementation, perform audits, deliver training, and drive data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
2+ years of experience in a related field.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local HSE regulations.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledgeable with OSHA, EPA, NFPA regulations.
Ability to conduct job hazard analyses, site audits, and root-cause analysis.
Fluency with data capture, analytics, spreadsheets and presentation.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of HSE policies and procedures.
Perform detailed safety inspections and risk assessments.
Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees.
Conduct investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses; develop preventive measures.
Maintain and analyze HSE metrics to identify trends and improvements.
Coordinate emergency response and preparedness activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on HSE concerns.
Ensure compliance with industry-specific HSE regulations and standards.
