Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead the development and implementation of advanced HSE programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvement.

You will manage a team of HSE professionals, providing mentorship and partnering with cross‑functional teams to advance exposure control and IH activities.

A bachelor’s degree is required with 7+ years IH/HSE experience; CIH within one year is preferred, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a related industrial hygiene or HSE role.
• CIH certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• Proven experience managing IH/HSE programs and leading teams.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Experience in industrial hygiene surveys, exposure assessments, and program development.
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to foster a positive work environment that supports teamwork, open communication, and company culture.
• Skilled in developing and implementing programs that align with organizational goals and safety strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial hygiene program ownership, ensuring proactive identification, assessment, and control of hazards.
• Oversee exposure monitoring programs—chemical, noise, respiratory, and radiation assessments and drive trend analysis.
• Develop, refine, and manage programs such as respiratory protection, confined space, fall protection, heat illness prevention, and medical surveillance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulatory requirements across multiple locations.
• Provide expert technical guidance, training, and mentorship to HSE and operational teams.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to drive continuous improvement in health protection and safety culture.
