Job summary

Performance Team in the United States is seeking a Safety Specialist to plan, develop, and coordinate safety and health programs ensuring a safe workplace and minimizing losses. The role is full-time on-site in California with a schedule Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

You will monitor safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, conduct investigations, train staff, and manage MHE and hazmat protocols.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state and local OSHA regulations.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Exposure to Hazmat environments.
• Detail oriented and a team player.
• Experience tracking incidents and injuries.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Spanish speaking a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track the effectiveness of Safety Programs within assigned facilities.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements and update SOPs as needed.
• Investigate accidents and claims and assess risk management data.
• Conduct audits to detect hazards and ensure compliance.
• Administer PIT operator certification and safety programs.
• Oversee hazardous materials and environmental programs.
• Promote safety awareness through training and communications.
• Develop health and wellness initiatives and safety culture.
• Build and manage the Health and Safety budget.
• Maintain OSHA records and standard safety documentation.
• Coordinate with agencies, insurers, clinics and vendors.
